Celebrating Our 51st Season!

The ability to write songs that sound modern and ancient is a rare thing. Since becoming The Black Feathers (and life partners) in 2012, Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler have done it, comfortably melding Americana, Folk, and Acoustic Indie Rock sensibilities. Hughes’ guitar work buoys harmonies heard in the closest of family bands.

John Jorgenson opened our 40th season and returns for our 50th. “Brilliant!” raves Elton John about this Grammy award winning guitarist, who has often toured with Elton. Our audience had never seen a guitarist quite like John, who once again brings his exciting quintet of world class musicians, flawlessly performing the Django Reinhardt style of Gypsy Jazz.

One of our audience favorites, Annie & The Hedonists make their third appearance for Cooperstown Concert Series. As one reviewer said “Annie struts right to the heart of each sassy, nostalgic song and gives us a piece of her mind in a voice that sits comfortably alongside the greats of the American jazz tradition.” No wonder they’re so loved!

Taking his influences from blues masters (diverse greats like Lightnin’ Hopkins, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie McTell and Leadbelly) , Guy Davis is a musical storyteller whose songwriting and performing blows the dust off of the old, allowing his audience to see, and hear, the beauty revealed. We’re thrilled to open our 50th season with the Guy Davis Trio.

Molly TuttleWith her lilting and lucid voice, Molly Tuttle speaks softly, but when she says that she wants to create music that is truly original and unmistakably hers, her quietness turns charmingly bold. But when you hear her songs, it hits you: brash and beautiful originality is exactly what Molly is doing. An exciting opening to our 49th season.
